Reichstag Dome

We had a great morning visiting the Reichstag Dome. First the practicalities. You need to book in advance on their website giving all the details (names and birthdates) of your entire group and bring photo id with you on the day. You need to go through an airport style scanner so avoid having any children's cutlery in your bag (big mistake). If you come with a buggy (which you must keep with you all the time) you bypass the entry queues once past security and go through a special entrance to a lift that takes you straight to the bottom of the dome.

There are audio tours in English and German but the children's one is just in German.

Now for the good stuff, the views from the Dome are amazing, all the way up and back down. It is easy to negotiate with the buggy and a toddler. One way up and another way down. They have a set number of people they let in at each time slot so it didn't feel too busy and most people are walking and not stopping for too long. There is an outside roof area but it was too rainy when we went to venture out but this gives great views down the Spree.

It was very wet when we went but as it is free I certainly plan to return.

Address: Platz der Republik 1, 11011 Berlin
